In this section you will find some info on different types of keys that are know as Pats, Pats 2,3,4 Can, Pcm, Hec, Chrysler Can 1, 2, 3 and 4. There are so many. Immobilizers are other types of Transponder keys used by companies like Toyota, Hyundai, Chrysler, Lexus, Nissan, Mitsubishi and others. You may notice that in the photo above a key or two might look a lot like the keys to your own vehicle. These are designed to disable you car/truck if an unprogrammed key is used. Transponder is short for transmitter + responder. The word was invented around 1944. A transponder is a miniaturized electronic chip. It has a nonvolatile memory. This is one type of transponder, which is used by automobile manufacturers. They are called magnetic coupled transponder systems. These systems are passive in nature. Meaning they do not require constant electricity or a power source of their own. They do however work off of a radio frequency that can penetrate materials making the transponder not directly visible, like in the plastic head of the key. Transponders can be used in many types of applications, like the security tags used in clothing stores, department stores and of course electronic automotive key identification. Once the key is inserted into the ignition lock and is turned to run or on, there is an induction coil mounted around the ignition lock that sends out an electromagnetic field of energy. There are very fine coil windings around the chip in the key that absorbs the energy and power to emit a signal. The induction coil reads the signal and sends it to the computer to recognize it. If the signal is recognized and accepted, all other electronic components of the vehicle will operate properly and allow the vehicle to start and stay running.

T-Code
This is a photo of a computer that we use to program some of those keys to your vehicle. Each key requires a different type of programming method. This computer does this for us (and you). Call us to find out how we are able to help you with these types of keys. We can most likely ship a key to you for a fraction of the normal cost.
