Tips For Prevention
If you are going to be away from your home for anytime at all, leave a light or lights on to make it look as if someone is there. Lock all your doors and windows, even when you go to bed at night. Good deadbolt locks on all of your doors are always a Plus. Have us check these and your windows for you. Do not leave anything of value in plain site. Have plenty of lighting outside your home. Motion lights that connect to a buzzer inside your home are very good. Keep in mind that tall fences and bushes provide cover for a thief. Never ever leave the keys to your home hidden outside, like in the flowers, under the mat, under a rock, or on your door edge. A good thief knows where to look. Also, never leave a message on your answering machine that says "I'm sorry but we are not home" or anything like this. A good security system is excellent for homes, it will give you piece of mind. Make sure the newspaper gets cleared away from your door when you go out of town. Try to get a neighbor to come around your home from time to time so that it looks like you are there.
